Skin analysis

For anyone new to the studio, and for anyone whose skin has changed.

A conversation and a close look, so the facial that follows suits your skin and not skin in general.

Consultation first: the analysis comes before your first facial and before any peel or dermaplaning. Results vary, and no analysis predicts how your skin will look.

What happens

  • A talk about your routine and what makes your skin react

  • A look under the magnifying lamp, with you

  • What your esthetician notes, in plain words

  • A plan for what to try next, and what to leave alone

Three amber glass bottles, one with a dropper, lying on a white surface

Getting ready

Before, after and ask your doctor

  • Before

At booking we tell you what to pause and what to bring. Come with your face as it is; don't pick at it beforehand.

  • After

We go over your routine before you leave and write down what to avoid for a day or two. Wear sunscreen outside.

  • Ask your doctor first

If you are pregnant or might be, use a prescription skin medicine or have a skin condition a doctor is managing, ask before you book a peel.

Who does it

Any of our three estheticians

  • Beverley Alleyne, owner and lead esthetician, in a cream tunic beside a shelf in the studio

    Beverley Alleyne

    Owner and lead esthetician

    • Esthetician license · MI Lic. 000000

Beverley opened Ceramide to give skin that reacts easily a place where nobody rushes. She leads the analysis at every first visit she books and teaches the studio's other two estheticians how the lamp, the questions and the note fit together.

  • Savitri Persad, esthetician, in a white tunic at the treatment room door

    Savitri Persad

    Esthetician

    • Esthetician license · MI Lic. 000000

Savitri works slowly and quietly and likes a visit with a plan: analysis, then one change at a time. She sees many graduate students and staff from campus, and keeps the late Thursday and Friday evenings.

  • Yadhira Mendes, esthetician, in a sage-green tunic by the studio window

    Yadhira Mendes

    Esthetician

    • Esthetician license · MI Lic. 000000

Yadhira does extractions and LED light, and the calming facial for skin that is having a bad week. She speaks Spanish with clients who prefer it; ask for her when you book. She keeps Saturday mornings, and many of her regulars come after a week in the lab.
